“Offering the best possible packaging for portioned food is at the core of our corporate strategy. That is why we develop all products and packaging according to requirements for their intended use. We always ensure that the quantity and thickness of the packaging material is optimally adjusted.

In this way, we ensure effective protection of the respective food and, at the same time, only use as much packaging material as necessary. It starts with that-but the packaging material itself should also meet the relevant functional, regulatory and recycling requirements.In the search for the optimal solution for sugar, we decided on a paper-based material sourced from certified forestry systems (e.g. FSC® where applicable). The material can be recycled within established paper recycling streams where suitable collection and recycling infrastructure exists. In general, we consider “recycling” an important part of material management.

For our group of companies, the key lies in using valuable raw materials several times, conserving resources and thus significantly reducing CO₂ emissions. We are therefore constantly working with partners on the development of appropriate materials for all segments of our portfolio.”
